Job Overview: As an Inventory Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our inventory management processes. Your responsibilities will include counting inventory, checking for manufacturers’ defects, creating, and maintaining inventory locations, and ensuring data tagging and logging accuracy. A keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic production environment are essential for success in this role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Counting Accuracy:
      • Conduct regular and systematic counts of inventory to maintain accurate stock levels.
      • Identify and rectify discrepancies in counts promptly.
  • Quality Control:
      • Inspect items for manufacturers’ defects and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
      • Ensure that all products meet quality standards before entering or leaving the inventory.
  • Inventory Management
      • Create, organize, and maintain inventory bins/locations for efficient storage and retrieval.
      • Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Data Tagging and Logging
      • Accurately tag items and log information into the inventory management system.
      • Maintain precise records of stock movements and transactions.
  • Knowledge of Production Environment
      • Understand the production process and how it influences inventory levels.
      • Collaborate with production teams to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Warehousing Knowledge
      • Utilize knowledge of warehousing best practices for efficient storage and handling of inventory.
  • Physical Requirements
      • Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
      • Stand, walk, climb, and carry out physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
  • Organizational and Multitasking Skills
      • Organize tasks effectively to meet inventory management goals.
      • Multitask in a fast-paced environment, balancing various responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Problem-Solving Skills
      • Identify and resolve issues related to inventory accuracy or logistics promptly.
      • Implement proactive measures to prevent inventory discrepancies.
  • Communication Skills
      • Communicate effectively with team members, suppliers, and other departments.
      • Report inventory-related information and updates in a clear and concise manner.
  • Additional Skills
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
      • Familiarity with Epicor MRP and Infor Visual ERP systems.
      • Forklift certification for safe and efficient material handling.
      • Awareness of safety protocols and certification in safety-focused practices.
  • Requirements
      • High school diploma or equivalent.
      • Previous experience in inventory management or a related field.
      • Ability to work in a team and independently.
      • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
